What does an environmentally friendly production mean?

An environmentally friendly production means that the manufacturer optimizes the handling of chemical substances and handles wastewater responsibly. Additionally, the manufacturer must protect resources by using new technologies and renewable energy.

Finally, it is essential to keep the production waste to a minimum by reusing textile waste and more.

In short, the manufacturer must optimize its production place regularly to be as sustainable as possible.

Safe use

A product is safe to use when it does not contain harmful chemicals like carcinogenic dyes, heavy metals, and/or pesticides. To guarantee this, all elements like buttons, zippers, and fabric pieces undergo an inspection. However, not only chemical substances determine whether a product can be approved, but also the product's durability. Therefore, the durability of the color and more also get inspected.

As we continuously get further knowledge about different substances and their effect on the human body, the requirements get updated yearly. Therefore, new knowledge about chemicals or similar may lead to additional requirements for the manufacturer.

Social responsibility

The requirements regarding social responsibility revolve around the manufacturers and their employees.

Overall, the manufacturer must ensure fair working conditions for all employees. They must get a reasonable salary, have orderly working conditions, and more. Hence, discrimination, forced- and child labor is strictly forbidden. Also, it must be safe for the employee to be at work. Therefore, fire safety must be adequate in the production building, etc. Moreover, the manufacturer must protect its employees against factors that may harm their health at work, like noise, dust, and heat.
